Investigating Triops

We are learning about Triops. Here are some of the facts we have discovered online.
Triops can live out of water as long as a crayfish.
Triops live 20-90 days. Normally, they live 60 days. If conditions are right, up to 90 days.
They become adults quickly.
Triops are crustaceans that look like miniature horseshoe crabs.
They have lived here for a very long time (around 350 million)
Triops have 3 eyes. That is where the name "tri-op" comes from.
They love to eat bloodworms.
Triops are sometimes called living fossils.
They belong to the same family as tadpole shrimp.
Triops raised at home need clean spring water.
Sometimes, triops eat their own eggs. (investigate further)
Triops shed their skin. (investigate further: Do they shed like insects that go through metamorphosis?)
Raising triops is not expensive. A small pack of food should be all you need.
As soon as they are 24 hours old they represent their parents.
A triops herd has a queen.
People eat triops. (yuck??)
Some triops have been know to grow up to 45 inches long. (Investigate further: Is this a record? I thought they only grew to be 2 inches long.)

Update 5/2/2013:
Our triops have not hatched yet. We are still holding out hope that they will. We have compared what we did to what the boy in the instructional video did. We are going to cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Update 5/13/2013:
After giving our triops several weeks to hatch, we are admitting defeat. We are sad to say that our triops have not hatched. On the bright side, it gave us opportunity to do research and ideas on what
